Grupa Azoty is the largest chemical concern in Poland. Currently, the company is among the leaders in the production of mineral and compound fertilizers in the European Union and chemical products that have their application in many industries. The company has been listed on Warsaw Stock Exchange for several years, and its dynamic development and innovation is the result of long-term investments. Now, Grupa Azoty, in cooperation with the manufacturer of VSHAPER 3D Printers, is getting involved in 3D Printing.
For Grupa Azoty research, development and innovation is not just the latest trend to follow (…) it is actually a very important element of our work – emphasizes Dr. Wojciech Wardacki, President of the Management Board from Grupa Azoty.
One of the new, innovative areas of interest of Grupa Azoty is the production of polymers used in 3D Printing. This project and many more to come are going to be realized in a newly built, worth PLN 88 million, Research and Development Center of Grupa Azoty located in Tarnów on nearly 8,000 square meters. The place was officially opened on October 29th, at a ceremony attended by Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
There is a huge shortfall in Polish economy in chemical trade, annually 7-8 billion. We understand that modern chemistry is research, innovation and development. (…) May our actions lead us to the birth of a very modern chemical industry of the 21st century – said Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during the opening ceremony of the Center.
In order to develop a new branch of activity, the company purchased a VSHAPER 500 3D Printer. The printer will be used for testing materials produced by Grupa Azoty. Taking it one step further, the two producers signed a cooperation agreement under which VERASHAPE will share their knowledge and expertise.
